We have questioned the idea of how information literacy fits into our role as teacher librarians as a range of literacies become more well known. What is the place of entrepreneurial skills, enterprise skills, critical thinking, the General Capabilities, transversal competencies and many others? How can teacher librarians remain at the leading edge of learning with change is so frequent and fast?
A process began in 2018 that is nearing a resolution - that of developing an Information Fluency Framework for all school libraries and teacher librarians in NSW Public Schools. The PowerPoint file above sets out this journey we have come through to date - there have been many teacher librarians in collaboration from across the state since 2018 who have developed the concept and ideas leading to outcomes to date. It has been a true collaboration that while lengthy has been worth it.
